I have an 05 RX1 and an 08 Apex. If the mono shock suspensions are the same, then why is the RX1 lower up front? in the rear suspension, the limiter strap on the RX1 has a big curve in it at rest, while the Apex strap is nearly taught. The RX1 has nearly 12K miles and definitely used to ride better. I just had the shocks rebuilt, but I'm wondering if the springs are worn out.
My wife rides the RX1 and still likes the seated position over the higher seating position of an Apex. My sled rides like a Cadillac through a bumpy trail while the RX1 will bottom out at times. I'd like some options on improving the ride of this sled. I thought of buying new springs for the shocks. Or I could replace the shocks, but I hear the RX1 shocks are already longer by an inch up front. I guess I'm perplexed by how the sled stance could be so different.

the apex has shorter spindles and a longer upper a-arm, and the shock is relocated and is shorter.

I would guess that the shock & spring between the two Mono Skids are valved & set up completely different. I would buy the Fox Mega Float and really improve the ride of the RX1.

That sounds about right. I was thinking a rear shock upgrade would be a huge improvement. Does the Fox shock allow for weight transfer. she really likes to raise the skis on takeoff.

On the mono skid you have a weight transfer rod that you can adjust so that the skis will point at the sky or stay planted.

Be careful with the transfer rod on the 05, bent one at a 45 last season, 160 bucks for a few parts just to put it back together. I'm pretty sure my locking ring backed off and allowed the transfer rod to self adjust, pointed the skies to the sky one time too many, next time I went airborn the shaft seperated from the housing and locked up the track, luckily that was the only damage and it happened next to a road..drug it on the trailer and fixed it at home.
