when yamaha had the snowmobile head office in Coon Rapids Minnesota there was talk to put a sled plant their but the neighbors when in a up roar

It probably would help with manufacturing costs, since the Yen is so strong against the dollar. That's the main reason it costs $35,000 for Phazer these days (hyperbole, of course).

If the value of the Yen keeps rising and the dollar's value keeps falling, they will probably move production to cheaper labor and closer to where the market is. It will make biz sense and pay for the costs of putting up a factory.
