Sled Talk Blog - manufacture sleds in North America?

Chris has a post talking about moving sled production over to North America. I think that would be a good thing.

It probably would help with manufacturing costs, since the Yen is so strong against the dollar. That's the main reason it costs $35,000 for Phazer these days (hyperbole, of course).

That's why IKEA is manufacturing in the USA.

If the value of the Yen keeps rising and the dollar's value keeps falling, they will probably move production to cheaper labor and closer to where the market is. It will make biz sense and pay for the costs of putting up a factory.

Ikea is originally from Sweden, owned by company from Holland and 15% of markets are at USA.
