I currently have a 2006 Vector GT, and my buddy has a 2005 vector. The engine, is the same, skis, hood, but my brake is better being 4 piston, as well as some magnesium components that he does not have. THe other difference is the seat, my seat is a little firmer. We have raced in the field, he does weigh a little more than me but at the end of the field the 06 is ahead of him. Lastly, the rear suspensions, the 05 is much better for jumping and things like that, whereas the 06 has the mono and just absorbs the bumps much better. Hope this helps...

Have you tried swapping sleds when racing? I had the same thing happen to me when I raced my buddy on his rage. My vector was at the end of the lake first when I drove it and when we switched low and behold the rage was ahead at the end. It all came down to who had the better jump. Weight difference didn't much matter since I weighed 40 lbs more than the guy to bout.
