Slide question

So a friend has a 2014 Vector, the parts explosion says the slides part # is 8FU-47421-10-00 and cost over $250 each.
But you can get the dupont slides ( part # SMA-DPSSR-00-00) for around $60 to $70 each.

So what is the difference??????

Mmmmmmmmm Looks like about $170 to $180 each

What are you getting for the $250 each sliders?????

I love my Dupont's....Im sure 99% of guys that have them love theirs as well

I guess I'm one of the 1%'ers.

I got 3000 miles outta mine in what I would term "typical Wisconsin riding". New Dupont's are over $100 each at my local Yamaha dealer. I'm quite sure I can get 2000 miles on a set of regular slides that cost $17 ea.

Yes my track is loose and yes I run scratchers but only when they are needed. I can change them easily enough in my shop so the "convenience factor" of having them last longer is not in play.

Just like the chassis dampening system, my feeling is that this is just another gimmicky thing from Yamaha.

I too get 3000+ miles out of the cheapo sliders, on my 3rd set in 11,000 miles and I ride crap trails and roads at times. I pull the suspension every 2 years for maintenance anyway, so don't mind replacing them as needed.

Can't wait to get a new set of Duponts on my '10 LTX. This fall was my first pre-season on this (new to me) sled and when I was checking the slides I mis-read the amount of wear on them thinking they were ready for replacement AND not knowing they were duponts. Imagine my dismay when I got the first one off and realized I had just gouged the bejesus out of a perfectly good dupont slider! I should have stopped then and got one new one and been done with it. But I went ahead and replaced both with stock sliders. I figured the stockers might wear faster but no big deal. I was surprised when I noticed I was sticking for the first time ever on this sled in fair trail conditions.

I love my duponts...on a Rs venture........over 9,000 Kim's on mine......ruined stock ones at about 800 kms ......on a bad day with marginal snow.

I'm a 1% also........on my third set and almost 8,000 miles on my sled!!!!! I also ride in the "typical Wisconsin riding area's" and some UP miles!!!!!

I'm thinking at $250 the part you are looking at is the rail not the slider
sliders are 25.00 and dupont sliders are 80
duponts are worth the 80
