I replaced my slides last week Monday. Put blue loctite on the screws. Rode 115 miles on Friday. One of the screws came out and the other was starting to. The one slide slid back about a foot. Narffed up the rail a bit. Is there some magical secret to keeping the screws in other than loctite? I don't want this to happen again!
I must say I was surprised to see only a screw and not a bolt with a locknut on top the rail.

I have always used red loctite and have never lost a screw. They will still come out with a screwdriver but with a little more effort than with the blue loctite.
Some others have drilled out the rail and put in a long screw with a nyloc nut on top of the rail.

X2...had the same experience on my '05 RX1, had 1 of the screws come loose and fall out and the f'n hyfax slid 1/2 way off and back up into skid taking out 2 track clips

No one in town had a stainless metric screw and didn't want to wait for the dealer. Went to Fastenal and they got me new ones the next day. Allen head instead of philips. Put red loctite on and can tighten more than philips. Also not so worried about getting them back out with the allen head. We'll see how they stay in.

You will get them back out no problem especially with the allen head. I use red loctite and have had no problems with the phillips head.

I had my screw back out and get snapped off inside the rail. The hyfax also slid about 6-8 inches back on the rail and curled around the back. Fortunately no additional damage.
I had to drill out the screw, re-tap the rail with a larger threaded hole and install a threaded insert (EZ Lok - stainless steel). Got them at Fastenal. I installed the EZ Lok's with Red Loctite in addition to the thread lock they have on them from the factory. Worked like a charm.

I did this on both sides as the other rail stripped out during a hyfax change (paper thin walls on the tapped rail for these screws). So far I have used blue loctite on the screws with no problems.
