After 1900 miles on my 07 RTX I have noticed that the rear of the sliders are worn right down to the wear bars and the front of the sliders arent even half worn. Wouldn't a slightly larger diameter rear wheel could solve this problem? If so where could I get these wheels?

I am having the same thing with my mono, lots of rear wear and almost none out front or at the bend.
I will be inerested in peoples response, I know there was talk of a rear mini wheel on the rails so the suspension components don't hit. I always wonder about just putting bigger diameter wheel at the same locations as I already have a hump of preserved hyfax right at the wheel.

I've noticed if you run your track looser than spec they tend to wear out HYFAX's more at the back, also if you run your limiter strap shorter than the middle hole again they tend to wear on the rear part...
For the inner rear idlers if you run oversize it puts a lot of strees on rails and they could break...just my .02

I run my track more loose than Yamaha spec. and didn't notice any more wear in the back than any where else.
Dealer replaced the 6 idler wheels with Poo wheels, which were a little larger, at the end of the 1st winter, haven't noticed any additional wear, or should I say excessive wear.

How do you set your track tension?
I don't have a RTX but do have the Apex ER and I am not that knowledgeable about the skid of the RTX. I have come to a conclusion that due to the extreme angle that the track is turning around the rear wheels that the closed windows of the track come in contact with the slides more in the rear than any other part of the slide. When this happens it creates more heat and added slide wear towards the rear. You could cut out the closed windows or try adding SLP pads. I have added the SLP pads and larger Kimplex boggie wheels. This year I put on 1,700 miles and my slides are wearing very evenly. They are easily good for another 2000 miles. I also have my track set loose, about 3/4" to 1" free sag (no weight).
With the larger wheels my rails are just fine and I don't believe the rumors about the rails cracking due to the Kimplex idlers extending down 1/8" more. It hasn't happened to me in the 1,700 miles of decent/crappy trails and bare roads that I traveled this year anyway. Maybe the rails might become damaged if one was to put on larger idler wheels than the 5 3/8" ones that I installed. Here's my new idlers: http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php? ... highlight=

I use to have the same issue. I put on a set of the yamaha marginal wheels where it was wearing out..Solved the problem...I was amazed that the lil wheels held up all season..You can see the lil wheels in this pic..Pretty sure the wheels will be in the same location as your wear..

Although they don't install right at the back, you could always pick up a pair of the Yamaha "Accessory" wheels for your RTX. I installed a pair on mine and I never had any wear issues at the back. I also rode in some very marginal snow conditions towards the end of the season and the hyfax held up amazingly well.
To check them out, go to the Yamaha Parts Finder at the top of the page and look at the suspension for your sled. You'll see an extra pair of idlers in the on-line fiche. To save quite a few $$ you can install mounting blocks from a 2006 Apex ER instead of the RTX (I did).
I'm also running the wider 04 wheels, but I don't think this is essential (just more durable).
