I have a 2006 Yamaha Attak and I have put on polaris wheels and Im still replacing slidders to much. I have been told to put two wheel kits on this sled one in the front near the curve and the other in the rear, and I have also read to just run skidoo wheels that the small wheels dont work. If any one has done this or has any information in regards to this please let me know. Thanks. " If you have picturers of your suspentions please post them so I can see where you have mounted them.

This is going to sound really vague if your not familiar with snowmobiles, but feel free to ask more questions if you want details

1) cut the closed indows out of your track
2) fully clip the track
3) run older style yamaha sliders (narrower. more lube possibilities)
4) run yamaha little wheel kit on angles part of rails.
5) anti ratchet sprockets = no need for high tension track = better slider wear. (Big job, but works fantastic!)
6) tightening your limiter strap (good if you dont mind darting)
7) hyperfax sliders (made with some graphite)
8) ice scratchers (work well too but look tacky and lame IMO)
9) shorter lug track (keeps snow closer to sliders)
10) buy old style yoko track or phazer track with wide windows

These are just some that come to mind, and are probabally the most common. Most people have done one or more of these.

My past experience with yamaha skids, ( when I used to run them ) is that the sliders wear to a certain point pretty fast, but then maintain at that spot for a long time. I believe the wear point on these sleds is 10mm. I used to take a 10mm open end wrench and see if I could fit it anywhere along the slide rail. You'll be very surprised on long the hyfax will last. Unless you don't run in snow that is. Marginal snow trails really put a beatin' on the hyfax.

Yamaha's are notorious for wearing the first 2/3 of the sliders wear limit. They wear down to about 1/8th inch from the line pretty fast & then they stay there for miles.A lot of sliders are changed long before necessary.
Lesson learned from years of yamahas.

Crazy beat me to it.I agree.
