The slides on my sled had one spot that is wearing faster than the rest i changed out my slides and it seamed like after the first ride of about 100 miles that that same spot was worn is this a common problem or could it be from my track not being aligned properly

They wear to a point and then stop and last a long time. You could add some wheels or some to keep up ice and snow.

My slides wear very quickly 4 the first 400 mi. and then stop. Last year I went on a 1600 mi trip and started with approx 1/8" of slider and at trip end had 1/8" left. Just have 2 have faith when they get down 2 that point. First time it's a little un-nerving.

I know what you mean about the wear mark area. My 06 Attak wore right in the middle area. Yamaha makes a kit the bolts right on for this fix for $70. I add the wheel kit and the wear area stopped.

Yamaha is supposed to be coming out this year with some new and improved slides. They are supposed to be much longer lasting. Saw an article on this a couple of weeks ago. I'll see if I can find it but I would think they should be at the snow shows coming up.

slides

Went to my dealer and they knew of them.

They said they had 4 sets coming as soon as yamaha ships them and put a set aside for me when they show up.
They had no idea when, but said they had and order in already.

Exactly, X2.

The new slides have a material from DuPont embedded in them crosswise. From the loons of Yamahas testing, expect 8,000 to 10,000 miles out of these slides. The real deal IMHO. The down side is cost: about $65 per slide. But it'd be great to never have to change slides again!!!!
