I have an 08 Nytro FX with 3700 miles on it and the front end is sloppy. When you hold the handlebars steady with the skis in the air I can wiggle them back and forth probably a total of 2"-3" at the tip. I find that the culprits seem to be the ball joints at the outer ends of the steering rod and the ski mounts themselves. I've ordered new ball joints but it looks like the bushing that goes through the aluminum knuckle to hold the ski has worn a larger hole in the aluminum. I just quickly saw this while home at lunch so I have to confirm it but if I find this to be the case I was going to take the knuckles to the milling machine in the basement and open up the hole for a press in bronze bushing to bring things back tight again. Does anyone else see these issues? The steering post bushings and a arms seem tight.

Common issues, a-arms will be sloppy also, contact ulmers for better bushings.....

A-arms bushings from ulmers. You prob need ball joints too, which I think ulmers now sells them too. But north coast innovations in the states or sled toyz in canada sells the joints. You'll be amazed how much just at a-arm bushings will tighten things up. Do a search and you will find information on installing them. Good luck

I know what your talking about, the ski axle has the slop in it, the steel bushing in the spindle wears out. I replaced them with some new bronze coated bushings from mcmaster carr, someone had a post with the part numbers. They are longer then the Yamaha ones and will give you more surface area so they should not wear as fast. IMO there isnt enough material to machine them out larger for oil-lite bushings. I replaced the ski axle and bushings and it was very tight all season, also added some washers to lessen the side to side slop in the ski.

thanks stopdropandroll, You wouldn't happen to have the part number for the bushings would you? I looked through mcmaster carr and couldn't seem to find one that would work which is why I was thinking about machining it out and bushing it. There is way too much play in the ski mount alone. I just ordered the Ulmer bushing kit, I figured I might as well do that while it's apart.
Thank you very much
