Some guy wanted me to do a comparison between these two skis. Last winter I had 7" PowderHounds and now I have SLP PP. I´ve driven with SLP´s only about 5 km for now, so here are my first thoughts.
PowderHounds seem to carry the front much better in fresh powder, than PP. Of course I can´t make a final conclusion after so few kilometres, but I have to admit I was a little bit disappointed. I drive 90% off trail, so this is one of the most important features for me. With PP the sled turns very sharp, I think in this area they are better than PowderHounds, at least in very loose powder.
I´ll post more when I get more miles!
Oh yes, a couple of words about the test sled:
Apex ER 2006 with stock shocks
Extended from 121" to 144" with 2" lug

Nice one, Pete! Laughed my #*$&@ off reading your Finnish words, you surprised me
Jumalauta, I´ll post more results from todays ride tomorrow, I´m too tired now.

Yesterday I was driving on a hardpack snow and boy does these skis steer. The sled goes razor sharp where I want it to go, but there´s no significant difference to PowderHounds. From what I´ve experienced so far with Powder Pros, my conclusion is that I like PowderHounds more than PP.
We´ll see if I stick with these skis whole winter, but I´m already suffering some kind of withdrawal. I´m pretty sure PP is much better on slush snow but I value PH´s better flotation on powder much more than PP´s slush performance. I might trade these to 8" wide PH´s, which have more keel than 7" ones.

So now I´ve traded PP´s to 8" powderhounds.
Let´s see the real test results during next week, because now I get to compare these in same conditions.

I just switched to 8" PH's and found they are much more responsive on the trail than the 7" ones and of course 8" = better flotation off trail = more confidence. Off trail they steer somewhat better than the 7" PH's but still not quite what I would like - I guess the weight of the VL (or any 4 stroke) probably makes steering difficult in powder with any ski.
