I may have bought the wrong size wheel when I ordered my slydog wheels. I bought the 7.25" rear axle wheels, and I notice they are just a little bit bigger than the stock wheels. I'm thinking its probably not gonna matter to run them on the outside and run two stock size wheels in the inside since it is such a small amount, but i dont know.
Is anyone else doing this? Bad idea maybe? or should I order two more slydog wheels?
Thanks

You will be fine. We run the 7.25" wheels on all Yamaha sleds.

ok thanks, good to know

shadow44, for the smaller wheels run the 5.380" wheels, they are a little larger than stock, so it will help with the hyfax wear. And they have the 6005 bearing so it is a direct bolt on replacement of the stock wheels.

Are you running Slydogs all across the back or does someone make a soild black 7.25 wheel for the inners.

I was wondering the same...Slydogs come with 6005 bearings...is that correct?

I'm running the 7.25 slydogs on the outside in the back, and two of the stock solid black yamaha wheels on the inside (bought the 4th wheel kit). The inside wheels will be a little smaller, but i guess it don't matter...its only like 1/4" total size difference I think.
Yes they have the 6005 bearing, which is what you want for all your smaller wheels. The rear wheel is a 6004 bearing.
When you are on the website the 25mm = 6005 bearing an 20mm = 6004.

I was thinking.... :o|
That on an XTX the rear wheels could be even bigger like 8" maybe.
(i'd do all 4 rear)
Since the tip up is there and the back section of the sliders never wear anyway...
As long as the track is long enough to fit and if the right berings could be sourced.
Would you or would you not get higher track speed with 8" wheels out back?

Cheers

You'll gain nothing in speed with 8" versus the stock 7-1/8" wheels. I have played with wheels all the way up to 10" diameter on race sleds and found very very minimal gains.

Good to know.
I suppose that trick only shows up on ashphalt drag sleds.

Cheers

I have the SlyDog wheels all the way around and I had very little Hyfax wear last season, 2500 miles on the stock hyfax. At the end of the season my wheels were in good shape, bearings are good except one looks like it lost the outer seal, and no deformed wheels. I am very happy with this setup.
