When I first got my Nytro I left the stock ski's on. I rode it for a few weeks and loved how the thing handled, I could turn no problem on hard pack and powder. A couple weeks ago, I took my Slydog powder hounds off my RX1 and put them on my Nytro. Had to modify the mounts to make them work, but everything seems ok. The question I have is has anyone had problems with the Slydogs? I have found that since I put them on the sled it won't turn and seems to want to plow heavely. The snow conditions have changed since I put them on so I don't know if it's the spring time snow or the ski's. I can't switch back because I sold the stock ski's. Just curious because if it's the ski's I need to find a pair of stock ski's again.

Thanks

get the proper rubbers for the phounds for the fx nytro. another thing to help with turning on trail is bergstrom ski savers in 1/2" thick. pull down the limiter strap a few holes (tighter), and dial in some front shock ski pressure. you'll need more keel and ski pressure to turn due to the phounds floating so well. love mine on my nytro. ski

This was my gripe w/ the Slydogs too. Either some one has a better setup than I found, or they just put up with it. But I had them on my Rev for a couple rides, then bought MODs and never looked back.

They do float and work great in pow, but on those setup/hard pack boondocking days, I just didn't like the pushing and what not..wasn't working for me.

The MODs felt a lot better, all around, work great in the deep, carves, side hilling. Not quite as good as Simmons on the trail (darty wise), but much much more managable than the Slydogs were for me.

I will definately be trying the MODs on they Nytro..

All this info is from riding with them on a Rev chassis, not a Nytro, but I'm guessing since the 2 chassis feel similar and have that 'rider forward' feel to it, that the Nytro will react similarly.
