They are awesome on the trails, no darting, imo steering is easier, side hill great, float in the fluff. One of the best changes to my sled.
 
I am a fan of the C&A xtx's. At 7.5" wide, they provide good flotation off trail and excellent trail manners. Just make sure to set the ski loops at the third hole, which tips the front of the ski up further if your gonna be mostly off trail. No experience with neither slydogs or simmons, but the XTX's were a major improvement over the curves that I ran for 1 season, imo. Running 6" studboy deuce bars.
