I have 6" triple points, ski savers, and 3/8 shims on the way for my Slydogs Trail version. Spoke with Scott Bergstrom, and he recommends using all 3. He stated that the shim will actually go under the FRONT portion of the rubber and not the back. Does that sound correct?

This might only be answered best by Slydogs owners. Thanks.

I have darting with my slydogs also, tried toe in, even and toe out, cant get rid of darting!!!!!!

LB, I know Scott personally and he showed me that the as supplied ski rubber from Slydog put REARWARD pressure on the ski. I placed a 1/4" shim under the FRONT of my ski rubber and had good contact wear on the carbide with no darting. Been using his stuff for 17 yrs. and have always found his reccomendations to be spot on. The ski savers are dual-purpose. They not only protec the ski, they also shroud the host bar. Doing this exposes the carbide and reduces the depth that the host enters the snow, reducing darting to virtually nothing. Hope this helps you with your questions. My Slydog Powderhounds float my Attak and stilll rail arround corners. Ask Maxdlx and Familyman LOL!!

Saw 126 on the dreammeter on my Attak. This was on a plowed road. In deeper snow they may slow you down. Don't really care about it myself. Sled turns well and doesn't dart. Can't have everything in all conditions. If top speed is your concern, leave them out. I believe Scott's reccomendatios are correct though.

I used that exact setup except I still put the shim on the back of the rubber block. No Darting. I bent the left ski in half on Monday, now I am running the new Pilots with tons of darting.
