When going through some deep power holding the flipper to the bars it seem to sputter a bit. Just wondering if this happend to anyone else and if so how you fixed it. It also sputters at low rpm when you try bring the rpm's up to see what the engadgement is.

It's an air / fuel problem. Motors don't just sputter for no reason. I'd say over rev on your flipper to the bar in the powder, being there is no resistance to pull your rr's down and low end is a either a load up problem or lack their of(fuel). Get yourself a fuel programmer and tune for happier days. the Ecu has parameters that aren't quite perfect. The fuel controller will take this away. There are other posts on this, simply use the search engine on this site and you will find enough answers to fill your needs. Hope I could help. Scott

My sled has a sputter @ times but only on idle. Once I'm on the flipper performance is 100%! I've got it booked in @ my dealer tomorrow to get the CO levels set a little better. This adjustment can significantly improve idle performance as well as starting.

Blue 4, this is most likely too much fuel "loading up" during idle. This was the only problem I had too. If they can reduce the fuel from idle to 4500 rpm than it should solve your issues.

Excellent to hear scott32! I kind of figure(as well as my dealer) that this is my issue. It just simply sounds like it's getting too much fuel @ times on idle. I'll try to remember to report back & let you know how it turned out.

Well I got my CO levels set at the dealer on Friday. I got it home and it seemed to run quite a bit better. Was out on a ride yesterday and after quite a bit of riding, stopping and a coffee shop stop all was good. On the way home after a couple of high speed runs across a flat field I slowed down to a stop and the sputter was back. Kept riding because as I said before it runs 100% when I'm on the throttle. After riding a while, stopped to talk and send one of the guys off that we were riding with. Idled fine there and after that on another stop. It's a little more intermittent now. My question would be, am I on the right track with CO level adjustments and should I get them to do a little more or no? I've got a couple of spare relays on hand here and am gonna change the fuel pump relay but I don't think that'll help because the sleds fine in every throttle range except at times on idle. Feedback would be appreciated.

I think you on the right track with it being a lean spot. Mine does it also. Kind of a PIA when your on and off the throttle alot, such as boondocking through tight trees.
Has anyone tried checking the sync of the throttle bodies yet? I'm thinking that if the throttle butterflies are not exactly spot on. It could amplify the effects of any lean areas in the fuel programing.

I would hardly say it would be lean. It sounds like it may be getting too much fuel at idle. Like a carbed sled when it's running to rich. I could be wrong on this though, perhaps someone could clarify.

Mine will even backfire through the intake, when the throttle is opened at times. Which usually indicates a lean spot. Also the sled does not smell rich at idle. However we could have two different issues though...
My dealer was telling me that the sleds are set up to run pretty lean at idle from the factory. To meet emission standards.

I hear what you're saying Mtnviper. And what you're saying about yours makes sense. Maybe I'm looking at it wrong but it sounds like it's getting too however maybe traditional thinking doesn't play into this scenario.

I have to call myself out on this one as I should not post while drinking. Thursday nights are not good to me. I wasn't thinking straight at all. A bog is too much fuel and a sputter or cut-out is not enough. WE haven't had snoww here for two weeks so no testing has been done yet with the fuel programmer. but I am going to add fuel not reduce. I shall no longer visit TY after or during my nights with the boys. Sorry for any miss guidence.

LOL! It's all good man! This would prolly make sense because when I look at my work order from the dealer they actually raised the number......this is more in line with what you're saying!
