smoking belts

Almost 2000 miles. Original belt and sliders. I have been keeping an eye on both. I run the track pretty loose and also tried to heat cycle the sliders.

On the flip side. I have a 2007 Phazer Mountain and those sliders get SUPER HOT at times with hard pack trails.

So in comparrison, I think the Nytro is great on belts and also great on sliders. My phazer will burn them when the nytro isn't even warm.

Has anyone ran the harder Apex belt in their Nytro? I'm on my 4th belt in 1,400 miles. Too much deep snow WFO riding I guess.

I raced the Valdez Mayor's Cup on Saturday and did the last three laps (66 miles) with my tub split open on the clutch side. I had snow to the bottom 1/3rd of my driven and snow packed in next to my drive. My motor was bouncing off the rev limiter and I initially thought I was running out of gas. My belt squealed and smoked but lasted the rest of the race and let me finish 6th in semi-pro. The next day I discovered my belt was riding way low in the secondary but it did not blow. I was amazed because I've never abused a belt so bad in my 22 yrs or snowmachining.

yeah i have 1000 kms on a turbo short track and my belt looks brand new! i have never been so impressed with a 88$ belt!!

I have about 3600 kilometers on my nytro and im on my 6th belt. On 5 of these belts the string in the centre of the belt would start coming out on the inside so i would cut it off and burn the end of the string but then it would just come out again and eventually the belt would blow to bits.

I noticed that too. On other sleds I've just been able to cut the cords and keep using the belt. On the Yami belts the cords just keep peeling. I'm on belt 5 in 1,500 miles.
