I have the Sno Stuff snowmobile dolly. I paid around $300 for it. I am totally disappointed in the wheels. I bought this for the big wheels to run on gravel and rough terrain. It picks up my vmax 700 ok but I noticed the plastic wheels started flexing. I was a little disappointed but now I just got a new Apex XTX and its a much heavier sled. The Wheels now nearly bend in half when I pick up the sled and are close to snapping in half.
I finally realized that just recently Sno Stuff released a "wheel Kit" for the fix. The wheels are non-pneumatic but they also charge $60 each for them! Anyway here are the wheels if any of you have experienced a similar problem.
Heres the part numbers for the wheels. They can be googled and you can order from a few difference sites. I ordered mine from amazon.

What ever happened to rubber air filled tires?

The rubber air filled tires won't hold the amount of weight required to hold the heavier apex models. I have the apex xtx and with a full tank of gas and trying to pick up the apex the sno stuff dolly wheels won't hold the weight. The tires begin to fold in half. They are soft plastic. The new tires are a kit that sno stuff sells for the fix. They ought to be free thought, considering there proudct was faulty to begin with. JMO.

When I picked up my XTX he moved it with a sled dolly to the back door of the shop, it had air filled rubber tires. I would have thought the Dolly you have would have no problems. The dolly he used had tires like a wheel barrow.
Also I once weighed a wheel barrow on a scale full of bricks (it was a bet thing at work between me and a old German bricklayer co-worker), it came out at over 400pds on the wheel and over 500pds total weight. So I know an air filled tire will hold the weight.
But they do build solid contractor tires that hold 600pds apiece and air filled ones that hold 350 apiece. Those are why I said whatever happened to air filled rubber tires. I hate getting old and watching what they pass of as quality is mediocre at best. A sled Dolly should be designed to haul a sled that weighs a thousand pounds, problem is like most things built nowadays they don't overbuild it they barely build it.
I think I should maybe build my own sled dolly and then I would get what I want at a cheaper price. 350pd wheel barrow tires and 1.5 square tubing frame!

Go to a TCS or any country type store or even Menards and you can find replacement wheels for far less price. My sled dolly has pneumatic tires and doers not have a problem lifting the sled.
