posting this for a member on dootalk
Just recieved a call from a riding buddy. He had his son's and 2 nephews Yamaha Snow Scoots stolen from a shed near Rockwell Iowa in the last couple days.
The Scoots are all in running condition and all have custom aluminum mounting kits with C&A Pro mini skis on them one machine is red 1988, one black 1988, and one blue 1990. All were on a 3 place drive on drive off open aluminum trailer with a homebuilt ramp and salt shield. The trailer was originally a Triton but was salvaged and re registered as a custom trailer. The tongue had been ripped off and repaired so that should raise a flag.
This is the the second break in in the last couple weeks.
My buddy that owns the shed is a farmer and full time firefighter, so he is not around for a couple days at a stretch while on duty.
The first one, the thieves went through their big enclosed trailer and took a couple of helmets and gloves and flashlights out of the windshield bags. The next trip they made off with the Scoots and trailer.
Needless to say, there are 3 brokenhearted little sledders out there.
As you guys are going to swap meets and looking at classifieds please keep this in mind and shoot me a P.M. if you see anything that looks like it could lead to this.
