Its depressing to see how much snow is falling out west, and here in minnesota the grass is green, was out in the southern bighorns 2 weeks ago and had record snow ,and now there is more snow since we have been out there I wish the mountains were closer to minnesota, gas bill to drive out was crazy ,good thing for 4 stroke sleds, hardly used any fuel in 4 days of riding. Time to mow the grass :o|

Come back out the snow is great - here are some pictures from Sunday 4/17 (Snowy Range WY)

is this your house? or cabins you rent?

That is my parents cabin in the Snowy's - it is 11 miles up the trail from the parking area. We went up to push snow away from the cabin and get things ready for the spring melt - but ended up riding in powder for a while!

Elevation = 9500 feet. Lots of snow there this year - 150% of average!

Man i would love to have a place like that!!!!! especially at 9500 feet... Highest place around where i live is 3000 feet.... Love the pics.. especially with a groomer sitting in the background

The cat is my dad's toy - he bought it used from Copper Mountain Ski Area. He uses it to keep the driveway smooth and to keep the snow away from the cabin so we can get in/out easier. It is a 1994(?) Pisten Bully with a 300 hp Detroit Diesel. I grew up working on farms and that thing is almost like running a combine (moving the header up and down etc.). It's fun to drive around and my daughter loves to ride in it with her grandma and grandpa.

We start riding at about 8500 feet and can ride up over 11,000 feet pretty easily. The tallest peak in the Snowy's is 12,013 feet and you can ride up the backside and stand up on "top of the mountain".

There will be people messing around up there until May/June, but I am probably done for the year.

But, if I can get up there right after a storm I will head up there. I don't like riding hardpacked snow when the creeks are opening up - call me a powder snob I guess!

I went to alpine WY ..... But that would be sweeeeet to have some place like that to goooo too ..... you are a lucky man ;)!
