I live in a village in Alaska and the eskimo people believe the amount of snow we'll have is related to the tallness of the grass.

Well this year the grass is really High. My wife is 5' tall.

Maybe a snowy winter ahead.

Beware winter and snow lovers, another one of "those" type of winters is on tap possibly for most of the nation. The one of "those" types of winters is a warm winter. Especially as we get past December.

The latest forecasts out now says that October through December will be quite average across the nation temperature wise, with some areas seeing above normal precipitation during this time period as well. This above normal precip area seems to be in the northern Rockies. This bodes well with riders out there, but what about the riders in the Midwest to the northeast? Well during this time period (Oct - Dec) precip should be near average with some areas below average.

Then the table really starts to turn as we head into the 2nd half of the winter season. We will see temperatures a bit above average to average from the northern Rockies all the way to the northeast. Along with the above average temps will be the possibility of below average precipitation across the Midwest to the northeastern United States. Again the northern Rockies could escape with near average precip.

So all and all at this point it looks like it could be another "iffy" winter. I mean I am sure most of us will get some type of riding done. Especially in the northern Rockies, UP, and portions of up state Maine. However, other areas that aren't in these snow proned areas, could see a rocky winter snow wise. Again it is only July, so things could change by the time the next forecasts come out. So, if you can't stand this forecast, well I guess do what they say, just wait for the next one.

Hey Gramps it looks like you better start being nice to me in hopes that I'll invite you out again this year!

No matter how much snow anybody gets, its never enough. I've ridden in some outstanding conditions this year, I was just that much more pleased when it snowed even more. Call me greedy. Sorry, I can't add any myths or tales about how much snow we may get this season. I'll tell you when it gets here.

here in Indiana we watch the Wolly Worms in the fall, the darker or more black the worm, the harder the winter.

Come on guy's in Michigan if we don't have snow we say #$%&* #%*! it and ride anyway so grow a set and stop worrying!!!! :drink: :-o
