We had an 09 xtx all stock plus a bender clutch kit. Fun sled .. torkee beat but overall kind of a pooch . My tcat on a3/4" lug 121" track would pass it by 300' out and put busses on it while i chased devons rx-1 we had well set up. .
Ive since got smart and 136'd the tcat with 1.5" powerpoints. I dont chase ANYTHING thats not boosted.
The nytrowas real strong off the corner but thats it. It was all over a few hundred feet outta the corner. Basically a pooch .
And "bacon" got sold. We have a sx-r 600 with the full bender power pack and a ripsaw swap. Bacon could not hold that lil bugger off either. ... . The sx-r is named "bender" after the futurama charachter and the attitude accents by bender racing
Well I can tell you I did the test ride in Montreal WI last spring and the units were not to production specs. The speedometer several times broke 90 and I had my GPS on my coat and max speed read 87 so they are a lot closer than the old days when my speedo could read as much as 132 on my stroked apex motor in an RX-1 but the best ever on GPS was 119 and 117 on radar 1 time. I shaved a tooth off the pick up wheel and was then within 5 mph of the GPS. The new vipers are well documented that the demo units last year were detuned and the clutching was not yet right.
When all is said and done if the motors on these are back to full HP and the clutching is straightened out the sled weighs less, has a lowered mass and should be able to duplicate or better the speed.
We have all fought over the speed thing for years. Unless the sled are running side by side in final trim it is the only way to measure the competition. I have run the same sled on the same day after temp change and vastly different snow conditions and lost as much as 10 mph.
Buy one and if it is not fast enough TURBO IT!!!!!!!! Then it will be fast enough - and that is exactly what I am doing.
