I got this from someone on HCS
"Heard a rumor of new Apex in the Nytro FX Chassis. 1350 cc 3 cylinder engine with 175 horsepower. Supposed to be 30 to 40 pounds lighter than Apex. Also a more conventionally styled 500 cc sled based on phazer chassis with a larger hood, seat and windshield, called the Enticer. The phazer will also stay in the line up. Also bigger tank on Nytro and new Apex."
Seems to fit what the starter of this post found.
The 500cc sled would be under the Youth Category. And the 1350 under Ultraperformance.
Who knows if it's true, but it would be very much like Yamaha to build an 1350 tripple(basically 3 YZ450 cylinders stuck together). With this uch displacment they would only have to rev it in the 8500RPM range.
Can you say Major Torque! The Nytro Makes 94 lbs. This engine could be good for 120+. I say just what the Doctor ordered and an better engine than an high revving 1000CC 4 cylinder, which wouldn't have anywhere near this amount of torque, which snowmobiles need to really perform on anything other than glare ice.
Bring it on!

Yamaha, Please don't get rid of the 4 cyl., I've never lusted after a 3 cylinder 4-stroke.
I'm hoping for a 175 horse Apex with 50 fewer pounds than my '07, while keeping the bells and whistles. I'm a gentleman, I don't want to be riding on a lightweight stripper. A temp gauge would be icing on the cake!

I sure hope they keep the 4cyl.
Hearing that engine screaming down the staights is a symphony to my ears.
I dont like the 3 bangers, they sound like farts.
Mo power and less pork please.

Are you guys saying you would seriously prefer an 1000CC 4 cyl with 170 hp and 90 lbs of torque vs an 1350 Triple with 170HP and 120 lbs of torque at probably the same weight?
Torque is what moves sleds in the snow. You have to try an nytro on the trail it makes over 90 lbs at typical trail RPM, it's an awesome trail engine, an 1350 triple would be even better! The Nytro engine doesn't sound too shabby either.

I would rather have the triple. I bet it gets better fuel mileage too.
