Ok, I know i could post this on the Apex Mt side too, but it seems like all those guys are here anyways and this forum gets 100% more traffic than the Mt forum, so here goes.....

I am seriously considering a major over haul of my Attak, converting it to an Apex Mountain basically -- but better.

My thoughts:

1. Hartman's tunnel extension (I already own it)
2. Timbersled 156" skid
3. 39" or 42" Barkbuster A Arm Kit
4. Ice age rails to 156"
5. Big Wheel kit
6. 156" Challenger Extreme 2.5" lug track
7. 8 tooth extros (I already own Snowpromod's old micro belmont shaft with 8 tooth extros pressed on.
8. As Scott from OFT said -- lot's of beer :drink:

;)!

Now for my question: Nobody I or Scott from OFT have spoken to know if the Timbersled components (skid or front ends) designed for the Apex Mountain/ MTX will fit a shortie. I presumed it would, and I believe members on here like Sobfrogg have done this identical conversion. But if Timbersled isn't positive, it makes me nervous.......

They wanted the following dimensions:

1. Centerline of drive axle to center line of the upper cross arm of the front suspension. For both the Mt Apex and my '07 Attak. Or are the the same? Anybody know this measurement vs. the MTX?

2. Distance from the running board up to the mounting bolt for the front suspension arm.

3. Distance front to back on the front suspension arm mounting bolt...

Any one know these measurements and whether they differ at all from the standard Apex/Attak from the MTX Apex?

Where this all applies is whether the Barkbuster will bolt right onto the front of an Attak like it will on an MTX. Otherwise I need to think up something different.

Any help will be appreciated!

:rocks: ;)!

If I remember right the MTX skid is longer. At this point, that's how I want to do my setup but had to change it.

You could just add a new tunnel. It would save you weight.

If you mean like Fabraft or Van Amburg after market tunnels, you are right, they are awesome and save weight. But if it came to that I'd just get an Apex MTX myself or do something else -- too much $$$$ on top of these plans. That would be cool and over the top though!

And actually, as I am aware the majority of the tunnels, up the extensions, is the same on all apex's, so I don't think there is weight saving there.

Maybe all the holes just in different locations in the tunnel?

Mike, have you run this by purchasing yet?

You may find yourself on the AC120 for the season without her approval.
