Doesn't it seem not that long ago. You can still envision it in your mind as you rode down the trail as fast as you could.

I just want to say upfront, I know these arent Yamahas and I aplogize for that. My family has always been into Polaris sleds and I aplogize for their lack of wisdom.
Let me put it this way. My parents judge all Yamahas by these friends they used to ride with who had '87 Phazers.

So what, if you showed up to a TY ride with a Polaris. Most of us wouldn't care, we'd be happy to have you ride with us.

Actually, it seems like an eternity. Its only been about 8 weeks since I last rode my sled, but it feels like its been 8 years.impalapower said:Doesn't it seem not that long ago. You can still envision it in your mind as you rode down the trail as fast as you could.
Sayner is a nice place to do some riding. If any of you have the chance to ride there you should do it.
A lot of people ride towards Minocqua and Eagle River, and they seem to neglect Sayner quite a lot. Usually the best conditions are to the north and west of St. Germain.
Like I told MrSled, if you all have a TY ride near Minocqua/Sayner/St Germain/Eagle River, I will do my best to attend.
MrSled mentioned something about having a ride near Presque Isle, but unless I can get someone from my family to come along I probably wouldnt attend. Thats just too far to ride alone.

I haven't been to the Sanyer area in years. Yes, it is nice there.

Yeah, I know. However, this is a YAMAHA forum, so I thought I had better apologize upfront.impalapower said:So what, if you showed up to a TY ride with a Polaris. Most of us wouldn't care, we'd be happy to have you ride with us.
If I remember correctly, I wouldnt be the first person to ride a non-Yamaha on a TY ride. I recall reading about a ZR that broke down on a TY ride last winter.
We'll just have to see how the snow is next winter. I can tell you all that I will be in the Minocqua area next winter for Cruiser Fest (second weekend of Febuary). I had so much fun on the Yamaha demo rides this past winter that I look foreward to doing it again. I figure, if I cant own a Yamaha, I can at the very least enjoy demo riding one. Riding a Yamaha for a short period of time one day each winter is better than not at all. If nothing else, it reaffirms my opinion that the only kind of sled I want to own is a Yamaha

My parents live in St Germain, so I ride there quite often. The pic where you see me standing next to my sled was taken at the Sayner Mobil.impalapower said:I haven't been to the Sanyer area in years. Yes, it is nice there.
Im so very lucky that my parents live up there, and I can go there pretty much any time I want. The only thing it costs me is gas for my truck/sled. Im sure a lot of people would give their left you-know-what to have a place to stay in Minocqua for free!

Rode there 3 times this year.Last trip we trailered from Tomahawk to Sayner. Nice folks at that Mobil. Let me park my truck and 4-place right there. OUTSTANDING grooming in that area. Very little traffic. Gotta'keep it under your hat Cap'n LOL! Otherwise EVERYONE will knowLOL. In all seriousnes, you can't go wrong riding that area. Went west , north, and east. But not SOUTH. Lotta traffic south of there.

You arent kidding about the "not SOUTH" part. We almost never ride even as far south as Minocqua. Its always north and west!

Capn,
We cruise your parents home turf a couple of weeks each winter so let's try and catch up next winter. Last year Christmas week I caught up with Suisse Sledder and Tork for an impromptu Ty ride in Boulder.
Do us all a favor and get a picture of the VMAX 4 hanging upside down from the ceiling in the Sayner Pub, right over the pool table... pretty cool. Waiting for this post, thanks in advance.
FYI, we run a few short cuts (legally) to get from Big St. Germain lake to the Cisco chain in about a half hour so if you want to come along keep me in mind for next winter, I'll be riding a lot with Tork, and Suisse will be joining us from merry old England.
Have a great summer,
Dog
