So I was at the snowmobile show today and asked the people there about a turbo for a new Nytro. I would like for the sled to run about 180 horse and still keep the legendary yamaha reliability. How much constant tinkering and trouble will u have from a turbo and also the main issue is reliability for myself, I can deal with a slower sled if when u turbo them the reliability is gone to #*$&@!!
Thanks for the help guys :rocks:

If you are looking for a reliable turbo in the 180hp range you have 3 really good choices...Ulmer Racing, MCX and Full Power Performance....I don't have a turbo myself but have done alot of reading for the exact setup you're interested in. The 2 I like the most are Ulmers and FPP. Ulmers is a very simple setup that can use the stock muffler or the option of the Excell muffler. Allen has spent alot of time to get it right and I've read a few posts from guys say zero issues in reliability. I also really like FPPs set up as it's completely hidden behind stock plastics ( as is Ulmers if you use the stock muffler ) and has 2 tunnel mounted intercoolers which helps keep ice out of the tunnel. MCX is pretty well proven from what I've read but I have heard one and found the muffler too loud for my area, and it's also completely visible from the rear..therefore the police can see the mod and in my area you would get a ticket for the muffler change alone....but I think all 3 of those systems are pretty much bang on with little tinkering. I'm not sure where you ride ( need to add that to your profile...site rules ) but that may be something you also need to consider as you may have noise laws.

I have the ulmer kit with the excell tunnel dump and it sounds like stock.

Allen puts out a great kit. You just have to get the mapping and clutching set to where you ride.

Once you get it set you just have to do a little more maintenance with the
extra horsepower.

You will love the extra power. It is like a drug that you can't get enough of.

I installed the MCX 180 myself on my Nytro and I am 110% satisfied.

Been riding 300kms with the turbo now and everything has worked perfect. Great throttle response, awesome power and amazing sound. Some friends of mine has the same kit and have ridden thousands of kms and no problems. MCX has sold hundreds of 180 kits.. .

Just my opinion:)
