I wanted to tweak the suspension on the 03 RX a bit.

I let the preload out on the front springs, and have a sway bar and links on the way.

But the rear skid has got me a little confused. I read Lazy's recommendations, but what is the FRA adjustment?

Another big question is the limiter straps. I have read some people say take them all the way in with only 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch thread left on the eyelet side, and other people say just take them in a few mm from stock location. What does the limiter strap adjustment actually change as far as handling?

Thanks,
MJB

FRA: Loosen the bolt that goes through FRONT of MAIN shock, rotate bolt to put in position closest to the ground for max FRA.

Straps: If you suck them in all the way, it will have very poor transfer and drive like a tank. You definitely don't want to go too far.

Ok, LB, in your original adjustment post you said "straps in a hair". Just give me an idea how much thread you have on the eyelet side.

Thanks,
MJB

I completely redesigned my suspension for 144", so what I have means nothing to you. I also don't remember what I used to have it set for. To set the straps with no starting point, set the transfer nuts to MINIMUM transfer (close the gap), then crank down or loosen up the straps until it steers in the manner MOST LIKE A TRAIL GROOMER that you will EVER want it to steer, then adjust the transfer nuts for the conditions and how you feel like driving - transfer nuts are a daily type of adjustment.

Make small adjustments to the straps. 1 or 2 turns either way will change how the sled acts.

Your owners manual gives a pretty good example of what the FRA is and what it does. Also, you might PM Weltracer, he seems very happy with his. I can't help, I have a M10. I know one thing though, if you throw some money into the shocks, (ohlins) you won't be sorry. The straps help with ski pressure which equals less ski lift and better but harding steering.
