I have been running iridium spark plugs in my RS for the last 7 years for a total of around 6000km. I have no issues but I have the sled in the garage and I was thinking about changing the plugs. Is it value added or a waste of time.

In a car, I believe they are rated for 100,000 to 160,00 kms.. I have had them in my sled for the past 40,000 kms. with no issues. So, I think you would be wasting your time and money in replacing them at this point. Buy some when they are on sale, and keep them with your sled. Some 2-stroke may need them on the trail.
