Those are hotter plugs than recommended. Don't ever go over the heat range recommended. CR9E or 10 are ok. Yes, the higher the number the colder the plug.

No, unless you believe it isn't running it's best. These plugs should last 10,000 miles with out a hiccup. The bikes go 36,000 - 50,000 easy.
