I am going to install my extroverts on Sunday -
I've printed off the service manual pages and everything looks straightforward.
I did run across this tool on the MPI website ("RX1 top gear and jackshaft sprocket"
http://www.mountainperformance.com/yama ... _tools.htm
Quick sanity check please - all of you guys that have swapped tracks or changed drivers did not buy this $50 socket right?

Its just a big hex socket... you can buy at home depot for $4. I think its 1 1/8 or 1 1/4 ish.

Its a very deep (long) socket. I borrowed one off of my dealer.
I have mine apart right now, I have the dealers tools right now. It is 36mm on the socket or for you std people very close to 1 7/16. There is 3" of shaft before the nut. Not sure on the torque spec.

I just use a 12" cresent wrench works just fine.

The tool Mountain offer's not only loosen's the nut it also hold's the shaft's while loosening the nut's. What i do to hold the shaft's is clip a vise grip with a rag on to the driven clutch lightly for leverage and then loosen both top and bottom sprocket's while the chain is still on.

The 12" cresent wrench worked great for me also. You don't need a $30 socket.
