I need a new track on the sled and I don't know which way to go. I mostly lake race with the sled but I still trail ride it. Right now it's about 80% race and 20% trail. This yr I think it'll be 50/50. Should I put on a durasport 750, hacksaw 1" or speed track? I'm currently running a 10 tooth driver set up so I have to keep the lug low. I'd like to run it over 140mph so I was leaning towards the speed track because I really don't want to lose the track at higher speeds. That being said my ripsaw has been good so far but, I've only taken it to 140. I'd appreciate some input from others with boosted machines.

speed track is typically worth 5 to 10 mph on top, but will suck in snow compared to a hacksaw

thanks rob for the info. I wondered what kind of gains I would see with a speed track vs a regular track.
I've got a chance to buy a 128" skid with a speed track. this was on my buddies sled and I think i'm going to buy it and try it out. if I don't like it, I can buy a 128" speed track with a hacksaw lug from camoplast. it's expensive but it gives me the reassurance and strength of a speed track with the traction of the hacksaw.

I'm running the new 14" fully clipped 144 Hacksaw on my Turbo Apex XTX.
It is quite impressive on the trail and the sled hauls the mail. I have had it
to 220 km and there was still some left. [Ran out of room.]
The Hacksaw is not much good in 660 drag racing [my previous SC RX 1 will beat me] but if you are going 800 ' or more in a race it will out perform the other 1.25 " up tracks IMHO.
I'd recommend the 1" Hacksaw for what you are saying you want to do unless you are going to spending a fair bit of time over 220. [ I spend very little time there.]

Go with a hacksaw. My buddies sled set up for speed runs only lost 3 mph going from a speed track to a hacksaw. The speed track dosent hook up on snow. For lake racing everyone runs the hacksaw around here.
