Running 23/38 gearing ,8 tooth sprokets ,20 psi,252 pitch track ,no overdrive ,what is the top speed for this set up ?thanks

I am only good for 100 mph ,this can t be right? With the 9 tooth and 24/38 gear it says 118 mph ,I always taught by the book it was 130 mph ?thanks

I am running similar gearing & constantly hitting 125 mph on our 1000' test track.

With the 8 tooth drivers and that gearing you are at 101mph at 1:1 and about 107mph with overdrive at 10400rpm. Why are you running 8 tooth drivers?

mike ,i run 25/38 with 8 tooth drivers.i think you should try that out .you will like it .i get good holeshot and pulls good all the way through.you also have enough gear just in case you have to let off for instance.8 tooth drivers are bringing your gear down to much that is why you have to go up on the top gear .try it .

turk ,are you running 25/38 with 8 tooth also.or are you running 24/38 with 8 tooth drivers .

Will for one thing,we race up hill 800 ft drags and on the flat land 660 ft .No studs permitted my way .You need has much traction has posible.I have a 151 track with a 2 inch lug .Been out today to get my clutch set up on 20 psi .She hits 10200 and climbs to 10400 on 89 grams of weight per arm. This is the best my sled has ran .I was going by this formula rpm divide by gear ratio multiply by sprocket circumference divide by 12 multiply by 60 divide by 5280 = MPH 10400 divide 1.65 (gear ratio) multiply by 20.16 (sprocket circumference 8 tooth )multiply by 60 divide by 5280 =120 mph On the gear calculater says 101 mph Am I missing something here ?thanks

thanks DC5 ,I will try a 24/38 ,thinking that the 23/38 was to high in the first place ,I was wrong on that one.Rx1 fern would the 25 be to high?

thanks grader, that is the same one on the top that deerloage gave. How is black john these days ?been a long time sence we talk.

mike you could probably get away with the 24 because i forgot you went to a 151 track.i think the 25 gear would be good for the 800 ft and 24 for the 660 ft drags.my sled with the 25 gear pulls really hard.i never tried the 24 because i think it will make me spin more off the line and because 8 tooth drivers gear it down also.you can try the 25 and if you dont like it go back to 24.
