speedo problem

Has anybody else had speedo problems .I have 300 miles on my 05 noticed today speedo jumping all over and finally reading 0 then it would come back on and read fine then jump all over again and go to 0 again.Have to take it in to the dealer just wondered if anybody else had this problem.

I had this problem with my viper and there was a wire under the motor that was shorting to the chassis.

It certainly sounds to me like something is grounding out. Trace the wires back and make sure nothing is cut through around the boot.

Yes, the exact same problem occured on my Vector yesterday. My dealer told that it may be the speed sensor as it happened on other customer sled.

I checked all wires and cables they are ok.I noticed when I am riding and it reads 0 and I tap the speedo unit it comes back on so it must be speedo unit itself.
