Okay, I've removed the MonoShock from my 06 Apex RTX so I could move the c clip to the 2nd position. I then take the shock to 4 different sled/motorcycle shops (including the Yamaha dealer) and nobody has the right size spring compressor. Automotive style compressors are too big and ATV/motorcycle compressors are too small. Does anybody know what model spring compressor would work that I could go buy? What I thought would be a simple task is turning out to be a pain. Thx ![Banghead :o| :o|](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/banghead.gif)

I did use the strut/spring compressor from CAP. It was big and I will probably modify it next time, but it did do the job, just go slow and be careful. I compressed it enough to slide the retainer ring off then uncompress then move the clip. Hope this helps.
I finally went to my buddies at the local Doo-Cat-Polaris dealer (they dropped Yamaha sleds about 10 years ago), and they were able to use the Doo spring compressor. It was a tight fit, but it works.

Yamaha has a specific spring compressor for the mono shock. It looks like a bazooka. It is listed in the parts catalog. It is called shock spring compressor, part # YS-43906. My dealer has one and has used it on my shock. My dealer is CNY Powersports in Cortland NY.
