I want to upgrade the 11mm bar on my 03 RX-1 and I'm ready to order all the parts needed but I'm not sure weather to go 12mm or 13mm. I'm leaning towards 12mm because I'm not a very aggresive rider and don't want to affect the other handling characteristics more than I have to. How much of a difference will it make one way or the other?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I installed a 12mm and it was a night and day difference over the 11mm. One of the best things I did to improve cornering.
Some swear the 13mm is the best bar to chose. As I have not tried both I can't say. I can say however that the 12mm made a world of difference to the terrible body lean the 1mm had.

Anyone find the 13mm too stiff?
go 13 and you'll never look back. I put them in every machine I have and friends too. I have 4 in mine. I have run the 12's but 13 right on. It does not affect the ride it just keeps the inside ski planted in a turn.
There is no other characteristic it should affect other than being able to roll the sled over.

How does the stiffer bar affect carving in deep powder?
is your 03 a moutain? It will affect carving but then that sled if it is a shortie was never easy to carve with any how.
I am making a quick disconect for mine so when I am playing in deep stuf I can pop it off and roll the sled. Just taking the nut off the bolt at the wishbone putting a a pin through to hold it in place.

i thought 03 only had the 10mm swaybar?
anyways i love what the 13mm did to my sled. used to feel like it was going to tip over when cornering hard. now it stays flat and still carves very well in the powder.

YES its a BIG difference from stock, by your driving style "not aggressive" you will not like the 13mm, I'd stick to a 12mm...and crank down/soften your front ski shock preload to near zero preload and you should enjoy the new ride its going to produce.
On '03 you'll have to buy new LINKS and BUSHINGS for the SWAY bar, give Bruce a call from http://www.pioneerperformance.net/pp_fr ... ension.htm and he'll set you up.

Thanks for all the opinions....but I found a used 12mm bar locally and also found a distributor in Prescott (2 Kool Performance) who sells the Pioneer parts so I will order the 13mm bar and change over parts from him and try them both out.

If you are trying out both 12 and 13mm bars. Post a comparison on the difference you felt from your point of veiw. Could be helpfull to others who are thinking of the same mod.
12mm or 13mm either will be an improvment over stock as far as stopping body roll something the 11mm could not do! If your sled still had the 10mm it will be a huge improvement.

Okay, check back in a couple of months! The supplier in Prescott only stocks the 13mm so that might be a clue as to which is more popular.
