Excellent. Looks awesome. With what do you do the cutting? Dremel low speed?
Thanks, but there's really no special talent here. I installed the mid-height with a couple of the torx bolts, and then installed the Viper windshield over it with a couple more of the torx in the remaining holes. Mark a line (I used a sharpie) where the viper shield meets the mid-height, and then define it a bit better with some painter's tape. I used a fender saw (air tool) with a fine metal blade, and then cleaned up a few spots with a carbide bit. You could easily do this with a jigsaw and some sandpaper. Start to finish was probably about 45 minutes.
I'm re-using the mid-height trim for now, and it seems to be sticking OK. I'm expecting to touch this up a bit still so not going to put the new (final) trim on until I'm done. FYI, Yamaha has a part # for windshield trim - 8FM-K7213-00-00

Perfect! That's what i'm doing. Did you glue the trim on?
Nice set up. What GPS is that?
I haven't glued it yet - wasn't sure if I'd want to trim more after a test ride in colder weather. Right now it is just friction holding the trim on.Perfect! That's what i'm doing. Did you glue the trim on?
Garmin Montana 610 with AMPS mount.Nice set up. What GPS is that?

What did you use to cut the windshield. Perhaps you could give us a brief description of how you did yours or was it pretty much the same as lakercr? Did you leave the shield on the sled while cutting?View attachment 124216 View attachment 124217 I had the same problem I cut mine down 3-4 weeks ago because I was horrified how it looked on my sled. Lol
Pic of the saw I use, and the cut that it makes:
Bottom right of first pic is where I tested the blade/speed. Bottom left of first pic is a test cut line. Second pic gives you an idea how much you can feather out a cut without breaking/cracking the plastic.

Looks good, and I'm just copying what I've seen others do...
