Stock windshield isn't getting it done for me. Love the look, but it's a bit too cold and leaves my Garmin out in the wind. Yamaha's selection of accessory windshields in virtually non-existent, so I'm making my own.
I like the profile of the Viper Low Sport windshield, but not as big a fan of the decal treatment. I used it as my starting point:

Marked the profile of the Viper, taped it off, and began cutting:

I'm happy with this for now, need to install my GPS and ride it before I do any more carving.

It could be mounted, and I've seen pics of sleds that have already done this. There is a tab on the left/right side (closest to you when sitting on sled) that has to be trimmed. It is a mounting point on the Viper that doesn't exist on the SW.

This tab has no home on the Sidewinder...

Looks good. I'm not done carving yet, but for now this is acceptable. My primary use for the sled is not hunting caribou, so the "mid-height" offering was not quite to my liking...

I'm guessing that Yamaha had a 3rd party handling their accessory windshields and something went sideways in their agreement.Nice!! Can you make me one! ...why can't Yamaha get off there #*$&@ and make something nice like this!!!
