Star suspension install question

I am going to install star suspension setback kit, rail extensions, track and Wahl bros extroverts this weekend. The instructions for setback kit are not very clear, so the front plate for the kit mounts inside tunnel, do I trim the factory plate that is there? If I don't trim the factory stiffer, the star plate will not sit flush to tunnel which seems wrong to me. Any input would be great thanks.

From one great Tech adviser, GrizzTracks, yes you made need to remove some of the metal on the existing tunnel stiffener.
