Here's the story guys. After 15 straight days in Quebec and no problems my sled sat in my trailer from 2/12 until 2/25. Went out to go for a ride on Saturday and did my usual starting routine, and all I heard was the starter turning over but it was not engaging the motor except for occasionally. So it would not turn over at all except for every 3-4 seconds it would very briefly engage the motor. So I gave it about a 1/2 throttle and turned the key and it fired up. It started fine the rest of the weekend. How does the started engage the motor, and has this happened to anyone elde? 2011 apex.

I would check batery connections.
The battery is fine. It was turning over the starter with no problem, but it was not engaging the motor except for sporadically.
My 05 rx is doing the same thing time to change the starter clutch I guess. Once it starts and warms up it starts up without a hitch. Its only when the starter has to work to turn the engine over that it slips.
What is the starter clutch. The sled is under warranty so at the end of the year I will bring it in, but just wanna educate myself.Sled Dog said:My 05 rx is doing the same thing time to change the starter clutch I guess.
