I’m trying to help a friend over the phone on a trip.
2024 SRX. When you put the key in the in “on”position, the sled starts. Reverse does not work. Sled sat outside on a very cold and windy night.
My best guess was the start/reverse switch is stuck on, or left switch assembly is shorted in side. Has anyone seen this?

Yeah a common problem is the switch assembly, dealer swapped mine and said this has happened before. What also happened was the heaters were on max. Could also be ice inside the switch, I've had that happen too. Check if he can adjust temp, lights etc?

Thanks. He got to cat dealer. They are replacing the switch.

Just ran into this where the sled didn't want to start due to faulty throttle tension. Sled stalled while in reverse. Pushing the reverse switch would actually turn the sled over. Just bizarre! This is on a 2025! Yeah sled is full of gremlins!

They sure don't make them like they used to. Did you get any codes?

Keep us updated! Would like this left switch assembly issue posted in FAQ.

I suppose if the engine was off and not running the starter button would start the sled Steve. Makes sense to me it should work that way.

I don't use that button to start the sled, I still use the key and just use that button when the sled is running to go into reverse.
I don't quite understand the reason for a combo button anyway or why one would even need a starter button there if you have a key to start the sled.

I had no idea that reverse button was a starter button as well! What year did they implement that combo button?

Oh that's what you meant... Really? You must've been staggered when it decided to turn over lol. The button should have a starter symbol on it on top of forward/reverse symbol. I primarily use this instead of key, I can just sit there and push a button while my friends yank their pullcords to pieces.
