I got my starter saver today from rock and it works/looks great.

The idea is that when there is power to the starter the red light is on. If the light stays on once the engine is started it means the starter motor is still on, this would lead to a broken starter.

All there is to do is hook up to the starter solenoid and a ground. Run it up to where you want to light to be and drill a hole.

For the ground I picked one of the bolts that secure the oil tank to the sled.

Starter saver in action... You can see how to light is on while there is power to the starter and off once i let go of the key.

IMO it an easy and cheap way to be able to catch a problem before it causes any damage.

Is this a common problem ? I have heard of bolts coming loose but was not awre of this . How much yam and where did you get it.

I don't think it is that much much of a common problem. About 3 week ago Rockminster posted in the general forum that he was giving 25 of them away(very generous of him). Just paid for shipping. So i figured I would get one. I don't know the cost of one. It is much cheaper then a new starter in the even that it does stick!
