Starter??

I planned to go fishing this morning, went out and fired my Viking up and let it warm up while I hooked up to the trailer. it fired right up no problem. got to the ramp and it just clicked. tried jumping the solenoid but all that did is melt the screwdriver. I would think that means the starter is bad? Is there something else i should check out before I pull the starter?

can someone help me out with part numbers for the starter and relay?


This is a 2012 with just over 1000 miles on it.

Sounds like the starter to me.

Starter for sure. Same happened to to a Venture in our group.

It really wasn’t too bad to change, I probably did it start to finish in under 3 hours. Not fun but not the worst…… hopefully it never happens again.
