The starter on my 06 Vk stuck three time this winter(first time in 5 years) but only on cold nights temp around -20C. It comes clear after hitting the key a few times. Anyone have suggestions?
How did you know it was stuck on others have said you cant hear it. Change out the relay solenoid switch first thing I would try. You can purchase a starter saver from Rockmeister to let you know when it is stuck on with a warning light.

All I know is that when I turned the key all you hear is a ticking sound.
Hit the key a few times and the starter would engage.
Ok that is different by stuck on I meant the starter was fully enganged and stayed that way while the engine was running. Sounds like your battery may be weak charge it up and try it again. If that does not fix it try a new solenoid switch.

Sounds like the starter solenoid to me. Like Sled Dog said charge up the battery and try again if not it would be the solenoid. It sometimes freezes when its cold out. After turning the key a bit it get "unstuck" and then you can start it up.
A new one for my phazer ran me 40 bucks.
