yeppers, sure does. I had my buddy come look at it today...motor has to come out, no way around it. e thinks it kicked back while we tried to get it started...causing some damage...he needs to pull the pan to inspect and make sure there are broken teeth sitting in the sump area? It also sounds like the starter got pkuked in the process. This whole thing just makes me sick to my stomach. I'm trying to be optomistic but it doesn't look good....funny thing is I bought a Yamaha for reliability....got one ride in and this happens.

Unreal...!!!
I wish there was something I could do to help.
Maybe I can.
PM me when you get a chance.

YA same here for reliability.... Ekks, so far I have heard nothing but issues, that being said I heard the same thing when I bought my CF, and it was dead nuts relaible for over 9000 miles.... It's probably just cause I am looking for issues, but yours hits close to home!

All in all I think my situation was just a fluke thing...and until the mechanic gets further into it we won't know...I will however bypass the TORS...I think that had it not come on it would have fired right up....oh well, that's sledding!

Yep, I hate the F*&&^% TORS. It causes more problems than the good that it was designed for. I much rather have a tether cord.

Well, got the bad news today...not only is the starter completey destroyed, but so is everything else related to it...gears, one way clutch...all the stuff...$1100 in parts..
..I just hope a rod didn't get bent in the process....oh well, guess we'll find that out soon enough.

oh my is your buddy fixing it for you cheap or do you have to pay labour on top of the parts?

Yeah I gotta pay labour...but he won't bone me, I've known him for a long time and helped him out of a situation a few years back...he said he owes me...soo...plus if he were to be doing this through work he'd probably make squat on it...so this works good for him.

Well, it appears that a rod got compressed in all this mess...so the parts list gets longer, but on the bright side...it should be ready by Sunday....still can't really figure out what caused it to missfire or backfire so bad to cause it to kick back the way it did...possibly a wet relay, sled started to get loaded up with fuel and then it fired?
