Why doesn't the factory apply a dielectric grease to the connections?
Yes, the connectors are all good quality and well sealed but condensation is present (and sometimes lots of water) and a can over time cause degradation in the connections .... even a small voltage drop or slight increase in resistance is enough to cause a fault in many applications. Some of the connectors are a pita to get at and others are located in spots where water intrusion is very likely ... a small amount of dielectric grease would be very cheap insurance and likely much easier to install at the factory.
