after troubleshooting I determined my stator had packed it in on my 2010 vk professional. Not alot of info out there on how to remove or even get at the stator on the big 4 strokes. Here is a video that hopefully will save some time if you are trying to figure the same.

Great video. One note to all.. Yamaha Engineerrs screwed up amd any RS Vector or Venture before 2009 have the frame in the way amd there is no way to remove the stator without removing and lifting the engine out of its mounts!! It is a toral pain!! Some guys actually cut and tri. The main frame to bypass this but that is stupid to do on these heavy sleds. Anyway, be aware
