Is there a bushing in the middle of the steering stem where the bolt holds it together to the lower arms? there is like a inch or probably more of slop in the steering.... Its a pain to get to so I haven't investigated yet... any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Would help to see what year your sled is or an idea of mileage. Anyway, I had the 2 blocks apart this summer (cleaned, regreased) that the steering column runs through, and that really helped tighten up my steering.
If you have high mileage its possible the ball joints are shot.

I think he might be actually talking about the bell crank. I believe there are actually bearings in there. The play you're getting from there is actually vertical play at least mine is. There's about 1/32" maybe a bit more for clearance. There is no way to really tighten it up I don't think. Its been a year or two since I've looked at the parts diagram and I've never had it appart but that's how I remember it.
