So I picked up a Nytro MTX and need to move the bars up and forward. I am 6'6". I did a lot of reading on this forum and SnoWest. It seems that everyone says the OFT relocator is the bomb. Some say CR is good too. I looked at a bunch of pivot risers and bars. I could not pull the trigger on any of them. So tonight I decided to dig into the sled and see what could be done. I tore the top of the hood off and decided to relocate the steering myself. Ran to the local farm store and picked a 4' piece of aluminum angle iron. Marked some holes, drilled them out and WAHLAH I relocated the steering for about $10. I also bent the bottom studs and shimmed the bushing out alittle to get a better alignment. Alittle trimming of the rubber boot around the pod and put the wires and hoses under the riser. All in all i think it will work great! I can stand with my elbows bent alittle. This is a major achievement. Now just can't wait to get it on the snow. :-o

There is A LOT of pressure put on that upper mount that is why I think the oft piece is so nice. It is built better than stock. That would suck to bend that out on a ride.

Ok you really had me doubting my set up. I went back to the web and found pics of the CR and OFT relocators. The OFT looks very nice but they are closed. The CR is a couple of pieces of flat stock, also closed.

My set up is 1" x 1" x 1/8" aluminum angle. It captures all 3 bolts and touches the frame in the back. The angle will definatly have more strength than flat stock. So with that being said I feel my set up is stronger than the CR (not that there is anything wrong with the CR). I have heard nothing bad about the CR setup. So if theirs is working..... I agree there is alot of force on the bars but have you looked at the thin pieces that held it in from the factory? I would like to post some pics but can never seem to get pics uploaded to sites like this.

while you are right that the CR looks thinner and possibly flimsy, the strength due to bending on the upper mount is by the little triangle pieces that connect to the upper gas tank mount / handle bar hoop.

IMO, this is the weak point on the whole system, regardless of what type of mount you use.

I made my own style of the CR racing for the record.

here is my new setup. moves the bars half the distance which is perfect for sitting or standing.

OFT is closed but in a previous post in this forum Scott, one of the owners, said that the site should be back up and running in a week. all of the relocators pretty much do the same thing. However the fit and finsh varies with each one. I am really happy i went with the OFT relocator. it is a little more expensive then some others out there but with the the fit and finish being top notch and the customer services being right there as well it made the choice pretty simple for me. ;)!

OFT is also Oilite bushings instead of the crappy plastic factory ones.

did the homemade relocate myself too. it was free .99. just some scrap 3/8 flat bar and a spacer to take up the gap for the bottom bolt. i just moved the bottom hole on the plastic block to the top hole location and bent the studs and spaced it out 3/8 of an inch.

its pretty strong, last month i cased a dip pretty hard and bent the bars with my chest, homemade unit held up pretty good no bends or cracks.

do you mean it move is half way from stock to the OFT position?

I noticed that if you want to push them out far, it puts lots of pressure on the bottom mount limiting how far you can go without using a knuckle joint...

Luke ... You will always bleed blue. Come back to the dark side.

I run the OFT relocated and added a Lakeaffect riser from superman. Both products are purpose built from engineers who not only understand the physics but also perfectionist.
You cannot got wrong with eithe product.
