9 tooth 2.52 pitch more bite on the drivers and better approach angle.

does using a 9 tooth driver effect the overall gear ratio and clutching. I would assume so since it would have to be larger than an 8 tooth correct? Also what about clearance issues, are there any?

Yes.......and yes! It does affect gear ratio and you would have tio be careful what track height you ran. Here is a chart for gearing. Scroll down a ways.

Correct thought the same thing but clutched correct (very important) it will pull the stock gearing without a problem. I ride up to 8000 feet and with the stock engine I never lost a drag-race against any stock 800 two smoke . 2" paddles work fine.
