Today I dropped by my dealer to talk about the suspension updates they supposedly got at the dealer seminar. As such he explained that the guys at TEAM BLUE claim that all of us that are complaining about the bottoming out and kick back of the rear suspension is due to improper set up. Yamaha engineers and tech guru's claim that the suspension works incredibly well and it needs to be set up correctly. He copied me a few pages from the update book and I will try what they say to get the proper pre-load/sag. There is supposed to be 4 inches of sag when you sit on the sled with full gear. If you follow their steps and have more, then you may need to go to bigger springs. Has anyone tried this? If so, what were your results?
Thanks,
Shane

:ORC What suspension updated are you referring to. Are yu talking about an 05 Vector or an 06. The 2005 was different than the 2006 mono shock. Are you saying that after you set the preload, you should get 4 inches of sag when you sit on the sled? Please advise[/list]

I have a 2005 Vector. Yamaha has a 2005 and 2006 Technical Update Book for dealers. Pre-load is to be set with cams.

I am aware that the preload is set with the cam settings, but what I am wondering is the set up of the amount of sag the same for the Mono shock suspension as it was on the 05 Vector suspension..... :ORC

Care to share what was said?
Did it just cover the Vector? Or just adjustment in general?
