I know that there's no storage on the RX1, but there must be a place to tuck your registration & tool kit. I assume there is a tool kit that comes with it.
Not to sound like an ignoramus here, just inquiring.

It comes with an underhood toolkit with some added storage but you will never need it unless your riding buddys need to borrow your tools.

A hint about the tool kit. Take out the two 22's and put in REAL ones that won't bend when you use them. They are the ONLY things in the kit that you will ever use.

The only tools i used were the 14 mm while out and the sparkplug while in the garage .

Buy the quick nuts and then throw out those 22 mm wrenches.

Maybe all the ice and snow under your track didn't help the wrenches out any. But they are pretty cheesey...
When I went to see the 05's in Grand Rapids mi I didn't know I would be buying one. So I didn't pay much attention to a lot of things. Storage is one of them. It sounds like ther isnt much storage space on the RX-1. Would ther be room for gloves or a flannel shirt?...thanks...

The optional windshied bag works fine for smaller items but for any bulk you will have to go with something larger.

hell i did too! Tried to adjust the transfer rods and they WOULDNT spin, so i said screw it.
dealer mechanic said he modded my machine up and had the transfer rods as tight as they could. Thats just great

Not to mention the fact that yamaha red locktited the control rod nuts from factory. No wonder you bent the wrenches I had to use two 12" cresent wrenchs to unlock mine once i did they adjusted fine with the factory wrenchs.

i managed to get one side done but when i tried to do the other
side the wrenches went from being 22' to 24's. next season i'll
have the quick nuts.

lack of storage was the bigest complaint I had about the RX-1 until I ordered the tank bag, problem solved.

Did you order a Yamaha tank bag and do you have any photos of the sled with it on?
I just ordered a Rage and storage is my main concern with the sled, we leave for rides in the morning and many times return after dark.
I need somewhere to stuff extra gear for use as conditions change throughout the day.

Tank bag is the way to go. Just be sure you glue some felt or other padding to it to protect the gas tank cover. I would have thought Yamaha could have done this when they made the
thing.
